Primary-source verification
Trust the source.
Not just the document.
ClearFile separates three outcomes that are too often blurred together: a document being accepted, a qualification being verified, and a professional meeting an employer's requirements.
A professional uploads their RN license. The document is reviewed and accepted — but nothing has been independently confirmed yet.

Document accepted ≠ Qualification verified ≠ Employer compliant
In detail
Precise language for a precise process.
- What primary-source verification means
- Confirming a qualification directly with the entity that issued it — or with an acceptable, authorized source — rather than relying on a copy the professional provides.
- Why a document isn't verification
- An uploaded license shows what someone submitted. It doesn't show that the issuer confirms it is current, valid, and belongs to that person.
- Manual verification workflows
- Today, ClearFile is designed around reviewer-driven workflows: an authorized team member performs the source check and records the outcome.
- Source and evidence tracking
- Each verification records the source consulted, the method used, the result, the date, and supporting evidence such as a lookup capture.
- Reviewer accountability
- Every verification is attributed to a named reviewer, creating a clear, auditable chain of responsibility.
- Reverification
- Credentials change. Verifications can be scheduled for re-check at renewal or on a cadence your policy defines.
- Employer-specific compliance
- Verification establishes facts. Whether those facts satisfy a role is a separate decision each organization makes against its own requirements.

Future authorized integrations
We plan to explore automated connections with issuing sources and authorized verification providers, subject to authorization, agreements, and implementation. These integrations are not live today, and no verification on this site is performed automatically.
